The kite wouldn't fly
When it was warm (there's snow on the ground now) we headed off for a walk to the park with our kite. Last time we flew this kite, about a year and a half ago, John flew the kite so high that he let the string unwind, not knowing that it would eventually become completely undone. We watched the kite fly away, literally. As we walked home, we saw the kite entwined in a tree in our neighborhood. I voted to keep walking and pretend like it wasn't ours but John refused and got it down from the tree.
So we still have it but after its last glorious flight it refuses to fly. The wind speed was great, we were ready, but the stupid thing kept nose diving into the ground. So most of our kite flying looked like this:
